Further research has found that a thread in the Eurobricks forums had already revealed the set in all its miniature glory in January. Going deeper it turns out that it has (so far) only been released in Poland with the February issue of Kaczor Donald (trans. Donald Duck), while the instructions can be downloaded directly from LEGO.com.
Current speculation is that this set will be part of a promotion during the DVD release of The Force Awakens – we’ll follow this rumour up and report back when we know more about a wider release. If you can’t wait then pop over to Bricklink.com where they can be picked up for between $5 and $10.
It turns out that this was part of a Japanese Toys “R” Us promotion in January. Thanks to Minifigure Price Guide for the correction. Incidentally the same promotion has the MINI First Order Star Destroyer that EB Games in Australia are offering as part of their LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens pre-order campaign.
