Initially announced via Tencent in China as the free gift with purchase of the new 75313 AT-AT, and then confirmed as a giveaway in Australia, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the official LEGO website has now updated their Black Friday/Cyber Monday landing page in Europe to include the 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber promotional set.
Aside from the confirmation that the European and APC regions will include this prop replica of Luke Skywalker’s first lightsaber – given to him by Obi-Wan Kenobi, who recovered it from Mustafar after the duel with his apprentice-turned-Sith Lord and original owner of the lightsaber, Anakin Skywalker – for free with purchases of 75313 AT-AT, there is little detail to go on.
If the global offer is run the same as China, 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber will be available for free to members of the VIP Rewards program when they purchase the new up-scaled Imperial walker, starting November 26th at midnight, and will run through to December 25th – or until stocks last.
North American collectors need not worry about the lack of any details of the promotion on the landing pages for the United States and Canada; the date has rolled around to November 22, and the VIP Weekend offer has ceased outside of North and South America.
As expected, when the clock struck midnight In New York and the VIP Weekend promotion ended, the Black Friday pages in the United States and Canada for 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber became active, confirming that the gift with purchase that will come with the sales of 75313 AT-AT is a global offer.
