The focus of speculative rumors for over a month now, LEGO has confirmed 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber as a gift with purchase when buying the recently revealed 75313 AT-AT; in China at least.
The surprise announcement came via LEGO on Tencent earlier today when the news that this 173-piece prop replica, which is 7 studs (or 6 cm) short of 1:1 scale, of Luke Skywalker’s first lightsaber would be given away with purchases of the new Ultimate Collector Series set, due out on November 26th.
First to pick up on the story was Hoth Bricks, who were quick to realize that the shipping box 75313 AT-AT will come in is so snug that this gift with purchase will need to be shipped separately, a concern for many collectors who worry that it could be lost during transit.
According to the Tencent post, the offer will run from November 26th to December 25th (inclusive) and will be available at LEGO brand stores in mainland China.
While there is no mention of it being exclusive to the country, LEGO Star Wars fans around the world are keen to learn that the set will be available in other regions, and searching for 40483 on LEGO.com results in the Black Friday Toy Deals 2021 holding page is encouraging.
Whether this GWP will be a VIP exclusive remains to be seen, but rest assured the situation will be cleared up closer to the launch of 75313 AT-AT on Black Friday.
