75340 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Gets Early Reveal

Audiences who attended the Summer of LEGO Star Wars panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 – or watched the live stream – on day two of the event got to enjoy a sneak peek of some of the content in the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75340), due out this September.

As revealed by Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, who pulled out a minifigure of the life-size, brick-built, tank-top-wearing Darth Vader that adorned the Galaxy Stage during the panel presentation. The minifigure’s special appearance – which was accompanied by a projection of a sand-castle version of Vader’s own Mustafar retreat – was short-lived, and it was soon safely back in Frederiksen’s pocket.

The set’s second – and likely unintentional – reveal came when LEGO uploaded a Japanese-language Summer catalog, that included a hi-res image embedded as a thumbnail of the front of the set’s packaging.

While the Darth Vader minifigure and sandcastle might have fit into the beach theme of the LEGO talk, the rest of the offerings in this year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar are in keeping with the rest of the Advent calendar subtheme, and includes a T-16 Skyhopper, landspeeder, Bad Batch shuttle, TIE Interceptor, AT-ST, Santa GNK droid, the afore-mentioned sand castle and Summer tanktop Darth Vader, as well as specially printed r2-D2 and C-3PO doid minifigures with festive sweaters.

Due out at the start of September, the set’s expected $39.99 price point may not be achieved this year, given that LEGO has announced that there will be selective price increases before the year is out.
